SOOP Club (@ Stanford)
SOOP is a Stanford student-run service club that meets biweekly. Any Stanford student can join and with proper training, lead SOOP trips for students. Meetings are meant to train leaders, prepare for SOOP trips, and hang out with other SOOP leaders! See below for more information on training required for SOOP leaders; however Stanford students can still be a part of the club and make valuable contributions planning trips and facilitating school visits prior to completing all the required trip leader training. For more information on how to join SOOP, contact us.
Meetings
We meet every other Monday from 7:30-8:30 in the Outdoor Center (in AOERC), starting Week 3 for winter quarter.
Training
SOOP leaders go through a rigorous training process to ensure they can safely conduct a fun, educational and supportive outdoor experience for our students. However, trainings are very manageable and some involved SOOP leaders even first join SOOP with little to no outdoor experience.
